I have to share this with you all, my new favorite dishcloth pattern for knitting:
http://www.jimsyldesign.com/~dishbout/kpatterns/honeycmb.html
I made this years ago and forgot about it until I needed a quick Christmas gift (remember my snowglobe tree fiasco?!). I whipped up a few of these and was so pleased with how cute they are!
I bought some handmade soaps from the Co-op (in complimentary colors to the yarn's variegated tones) and wrapped them all up with a little wooden soap dish and a big ribbon. I'm working on the last one right now and just had to take a break to tell y'all.
Easy, quick, and oh-so-cute!
Catherine
p.s. I didn't do mine in a main color/coordinating color like the pattern suggests. I just chose bright variegated Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn.

Posted - Dec 14 2006 : 7:48:32 PM Hi Jayne!
It's 4-ply and now that I know that you don't have it, I'm totally sending some your way (whether I get your name in the Hot Socks Swap or not!). It's super cheap ($1-2), available everywhere and I'm about to make another run.
The Knitted Farmyard sounds so neat! I'll have to check that one out too.
Happy knitting!
Catherine
p.s. Can you please send me a postcard from Australia? I have an 11yo cousin who collects stamps and I've given her England, Germany, Bolivia and Ireland but I don't think she has any Australian stamps. I'll send my addy on the package with the Sugar 'n Cream! Thanks!

Posted - Dec 14 2006 : 6:22:17 PM Hi Catherine, Looks really nice - I love knitted dishcloths, well, knitted anything really! As an aside, I just found a book on ebay called The Knitted Farmyard. It has everything - animals, people, buildings, tools, even a knitted vegie garden. Is the cotton for this 4 or 8 ply? We don't have that brand here. Best wishes, Jayne |
