Aren't those food covers pretty. I was thinking more for picnics also. I don't mind air getting in; but, no bugs, please. Thank you for the link, Beverley.

Kat -
I have some thin vinyl fabric, with bugs on the pattern. LOL! It might make really nice covers. If your fabric isn't the heavier kind it will probably work well. Hmmm - I will try that. Of course, you all KNOW this is adding to my craft list of to-dos. Tee hee! LOL!

Would Scotch-Gard work to keep moisture out/in?

These are really cute and useful too. I like the idea of vinyl to help hold odors in and keep other odors from tainting the left overs.

Hey Linda or Grace, if you try out the vinyl, let us know how it works and post a photo if you can.

I made some before for someone on here and they were just fabric. I think she was going to use them more for on picnics to keep bugs out of the food. I used elastic for holding them on. I like the vinyl fabric idea..

Interesting, Alicia. Would it solidify to stay on the fabric, though? I'll look that
up.

Maybe if you brush the fabric with melted beeswax? I have seen "food wrap" made like that.

Might be a bit too heavy, but I was wondering about how safe just fabric would keep food. Air can still go through it.
