I started making a Victorian Bonnet this week. This is the first time for me to make a Victorian hat. A few years back I made a 1950 hat done out of wire and made all the tiny silk flowers. It has taken me several days to make the bonnet form out of buckram with a lot of hand stitching. I'm pretty pleased with it. All I have to do is the fabric and embellish it. I'm doing this because I love hats and Dickens on the Strand is coming up and you can dress the part. Has anyone else attempted in making hat forms?

Someone else did the mask. He won an award for it.

Yes. I made a cat nurse costume from the Dr. Who show.

The headdress didn't turn out exactly as I wanted. The headdress has a hennen under it. That is a buckram piece which fits on the had and holds the rest of it. I am really proud of the habit. It was made so that the surplice and apron are attached to the dress and the sleeves have liners with elastic around the wrists so that a bare human arm does not show.
