I was searching through my books to find a particular 'bloomers' pattern... and got side tract... (whats new! lol!)

I have these great books that are perfect easy peasy projects and most can be made with a yard or less of fabric... or a pillow case..

the toddler/child sun dress is sooo very cute and I believe this idea has been around for a long time...
I luv this pillow case book.. thou most of the ideas are for children or very slender women... they are still fun ideas... these are just a few...

easy instructions...

and the pantaloons/bloomers/pj pants can be made from 2 pillow cases with some contrasting fabric at the bottom and you can add a casing and lace for a 'bloomer' effect.

I got both my books now - neat projects. I'll have to look in them more closely to see what I can make first. The prices through Amazon are great! Thank you for mentioning them, Kat.

Linda,,, this is the only photo I could find.. of my Bloomers blowing in the breeze.. (on the right side)...

(and yes, the pink item is a stretchy girdle with those rubber hooky things to hold up ones nylons.. for those of us who remember)

I made them from 2 plain white pillow cases,,, and added the 4" lace ruffle...
kind of hard to see.... and cute as they are... just a tad to small for me,,, but perfect for hangin' and showin'...
lol!

I miss having local book shops... but where we are, it is a good 25mi drive (down)to the city... or we can go farther up the mountain to the next town,, a 20min drive... but it caters to tourists... so my option is Amazon etc... but on the plus side,,, I can shop in my p.j.'s... lol!

I do read the *feed backs* on the books,, but I also take into consideration,,,(on the negative ones)... that different people have different opinions... and so far I have not been disappointed with any of my book purchases... I figure if it isn't quit what I had wanted,,, I can give it to another crafter or donate it to our small local library.

oh, and yep, I do shop fabric on line as well... again I have to drive 25miles down or 20miles up the mountain (small quilt shop)... but I do miss the days of walking, touching and choosing between fabrics for the perfect project...

Linda, I think you will enjoy the books... I know I do...

They were pretty cheap on Amazon. They have already shipped, so should arrive next week or sooner. Can't wait to look through them.

I love those books! I found them at the library. If I could I'd order all the good crafting and homesteading books I find there. I guess I'll have to take one or two at a time on Amazon. LOL

I know those aprons to be called "Layer Cake" aprons and I've made lots of them, sold them at Farmers Market. They are fun, but a little bit time consuming . . . at least the ones I made were! Probably because I was too picky about how they went together . .

Here is the other book... that is a fun book for easy quick projects for clothing, house décor, pets... toys etc.

and what I luv about this book is that it includes full tissue paper patterns... so you don't have to trace and copy and enlarge the pattern...
Check to see if your local Library carrries these books... and for sure check your local thrift stores.. or go to Amazon (where I purchased mine)... maybe they still carry them...
