I was purusing through a site that I buy machine embroidery patterns from.. and was poking around in their 'hints -n- tips' section when I came across this...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" Did you know that you can print directly on fabric using your printer (laser or ink-jet) without pre-treating the fabric? I use a temporary spray baste to stabilize the fabric with a plain sheet of paper and then feed it through just as I would paper. After printing, cover with a pressing cloth to protect your iron, and press to heat-set the ink.
You can use a scanner and wrapping paper (or any image or book/mag image or other pretty paper) to print your own fabric for use with designs or other projects.
(Editor's Note: NEVER run adhesive spray baste through your printer.
Instead, press your fabric to a sheet of freezer paper, cut to size - 8½"x11" for regular paper size - and run through. If any wax from the freezer paper happens to get inside the printer, it will act as a lubricant. Adhesive will gum up the inside of the printer.
My printer tech friend gives you this advice with love!) "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am tempted to try the freezer paper method...
Has anyone else done this? Happy with the results?

This should take you to the April issue. The article starts on page 36.

I thought I remembered you had done something like that. Thanks for the reminder of where it was. Is there a link to the previous Sister issues?

Linda,
If you get the "SISTER" issue, you can go back to the April issue, my article in "Make It Easy" was about printing on fabric (Jubilee Banner was the project)

I'd heard of using freezer paper, and want to try it sometime. Thanks for the info.

I use freezer paper as well. The only thing is that the printed fabric (unless they've come up with "waterproof" ink) will spot or wash out.

I print using the freezer paper all the time. I did all of my badges that way too. You can use the freezer paper 2 or 3 times, just re iron a piece of fabric on and your set to go.
