Posted - Apr 12 2015 : 8:51:11 PM Ok, call 'em Hexis or call 'em English Paper Piecing,,, but either way what a cute idea.. I spotted this on the internet tonight,,,
I would luv to do this... but... knowing me, it would end up in my UFO pile... lol! but maybe a small foot stool is something I could tackle... I luv the juxtapo of Hexis and burlap... and what a great way to use an old tattered Hexi quilt, or any quilt for that matter...

Posted - Apr 24 2015 : 12:20:00 PM Thanks Grace. That's how the pattern had it, framed. But I saw it quilted, it was nice. This was a challenge among my club members to get this quilt done. So far two of us have finished it. Diane, the other club member, quilted hers and it was really sweet. I love small quilts! They make such nice accent pieces here and there around the house ...... or the glamper

Posted - Apr 24 2015 : 12:02:02 AM Carole: what a beautiful quilt you are making. Remember two things. 1. I quilting is hard by the yard but a cinch by the inch. And 2. It's amazing how long it takes to make a quilt you're not working on. You go girl!

Posted - Apr 23 2015 : 2:32:43 PM Bonnie, so agree with you about hexes! However, a 1.5 foot long hexes would not be as portable! lol
I so enjoy English Paper Piecing. I worked on this little quilt using 1/2" hexes, addictive! I think it measures 36inx x 24inch (doll size). I have a gazillion hours on that baby. I do like how it turned out, just haven't figured out how I will complete it in terms of border. So yea, it's a UFO!
Presently working on a queen size 1/2 inch hexes. Not sure when that one will be completed but I can dream .... can't I? lol
Cheers!

Posted - Apr 23 2015 : 1:51:19 PM The eat thing about hexes is you can take them anywhere. Do it while waiting for the kids, the doctors office, just anywhere. My husbands grandmother made a grandmothers flower garden quilt by machine, no less. I hand quilted it and it was beautiful. Now we have an heirloom. It's one of my favorite patterns.

Posted - Apr 14 2015 : 8:16:20 PM Carole, knowing my tendency to procrastinate,,, I would have to make Hexi's about 1ft by 1 1/2 ft.... lol! But I can dream... or find a tattered & worn Hexi quilt and then attempt this project,,, lol!

Posted - Apr 14 2015 : 5:59:37 PM Katmom, that is a really cute project. If you used an Hexe that was approx. 1" to 1.5, I bet you could get that project done in no time!
