Posted - Mar 04 2015 : 10:29:00 PM I worked on some hexagons this week... also known as English Paper Pieceing...
I cut out a bunch of paper hexagons as a template to sew around...
this design is called, 'Grandmother garden'..
after completing it, I kind of wish I had not used such a busy background.
then I made a small needle keeper with smaller hexagons..
Stitching these is not a good hobby for an antsey pantsey short attention span personality like me... but I got through it! lol!

Posted - Mar 07 2015 : 5:00:59 PM Hey Judy,, I had bought a package of pre-cut hexis,,, some time back,, and had stashed them in my sewing box... I bought them at a quilt shop back in Washington...unfortunately I don't remember which one. the name on the package is : Paper Pieces. www.paperpieces.com
Then I use old discarded computer paper and traced a bunch more to cut out. I re-uses my paper pieces as long as I can.
Patsy, get started.. cuz as soon as the summer weather hits, if you are anything like me... you'll be outside playing from sun-up to sun-down! lol!

Posted - Mar 07 2015 : 12:54:48 PM I started paper piercing a couple of month ago. It is fun to do. I work on it when Hubby is watching westerns or sports on TV. Need to get back on it. I watched my Granny do so many quilts using paper piercing. Beautiful memories.
