We had a new fireplace insert installed in our old fireplace to make it more efficient..
Much needed in this 27 year old house.
I hated that hubby was tracking in leaves and wood bits .
I check out the prices of carriers and they were anywhere from $30-$70 ummm, In don't think so!
I am not a cheapskate, but I am frugal and there is no reason to not create one myself,,, especially with all the fabric I have stashed away!
So I searched through some of my sewing/craft books for a idea or pattern... and sure as all getout,,, I found one!

I had some tweed fabric, some patio furniture upholstery fabric and some broadcloth, all left over from previous projects. I layered them, traced the pattern, cut & sewed.... I double seamed everything for added strength...
Now when hubby dearest brings an armful of firewood, no more wood bits and leaves on his clothes or dragged in on the floor. What a great and easy project to complete in an afternoon.

It has been so handy to use...
It is a purple/green/gold tweed/plaid fabric...
When done bringing in the wood, I go out side & simply flip it inside out to get rid of the debrie .. easy peasy...

Great job! We don't have a fireplace or woodstove or I'd make one!

Way to go on that great log carrier! Even better that it didn't cost you anything to make!

It's purty! I like the colors. If I had a fireplace I might make one like it!
