Posted - Dec 18 2014 : 10:09:25 AM I recently posted about finishing up yet another UFO (un-finished object) in my sewing room... Marie aka Churunga, came up with a great idea... A UFO Challenge...
So I am on board... What if we post 'here' what one of our UFO's will be completed in 2015, and then post a photo of it completed...
We have a whole year to complete one (or more) and there is no stress to hurry, just a challenge to finish one..
It can be a simple little 'kit' project purchased at a store or something challenging, sewing, crafting, quilting, knit/crocheting... well you get the idea...
Mine will be to make a fun whimsical laptop Christmas Quilt... Here is my fabric to start... Wish me luck!
I have my squares cut,,, next to stitch up and then cut up, to make into a disappearing 9 patch... unless I change my mind! lol!

Posted - Dec 23 2014 : 3:32:19 PM It seems as if there are a couple different threads on this subject. Grace can you make a "complete your UFOs in 2015" thread in the Stitching & Crafting Room to consolidate the goals of all of us joining the challenge to reduce our UFOs. Maybe it can start with a confession about how many we have and how old the oldest one is. That would be entertaining.

Posted - Dec 23 2014 : 12:09:58 PM I am definitely in, I need to make dent in fabric and yarn. First project will be a bag I started last year using a jelly roll. I will post a picture when I dig it out. Thank you Grace for being our #1 cheerleader!

Posted - Dec 18 2014 : 1:07:05 PM Grace, I like the banner idea. It would work with Garden Gate badges as a window swag over the 'garden' cabinet in laundry room. I need easy to do, and that should be easy enough for my 'cut & paste' type of sewing.
Brainstorming, I came up with making a mobile to hang in my laundry room that I can see from the kitchen. Cleaning Up & Farm Kitchen badges should work with that.
Thanks Grace, you got my mind a whirl with designing ways to use the badges. First thing first I need to get busy and earn some more.

Posted - Dec 18 2014 : 11:39:30 AM Sara, cool idea w/the bottle caps...
as for the badges/patches... you could make one of those burlap banners, or lace or hankies or what ever, and attach 1 patch to each individual pennant... borrowed this banner from a MJF girl sister...

Posted - Dec 18 2014 : 10:42:42 AM I don't post pictures, but I will keep y'all up to date on what I am doing with the merit badges as I earn them. So far I have four badges and within weeks I hope to summit four more.
The badges will be used for different projects, so I am looking at a year's worth of work/fun.
One of the crafty things I want to finish is emblemizing a bird house with small brewery bottle caps. Been collecting the caps for years but have yet put them on the bird house.

Posted - Dec 18 2014 : 10:14:25 AM so far, it's, yellowrose, atkins2, churunga and myself... any other brave 'sisters' want to join in?
Time to pull out that project that has been stashed away for what ever reason... I most likely will start, after Jan. 5th, when things have calmed down... unless I get a moment between now & Santa's visit to clear a pathway into my sewing room... HoHoHo!
