This morning on PBS Sewing with Nancy how to price (value) needlework/quilts was discussed. They agreed that needlework/quilts were as much art as painting, etc. so they should be valued as such.

One woman kept a project card with each item which kept track of cost of all materials and time spent working it. Expertise to make the item was taken into consideration, but they didn't seem to have a set way of pricing/valuing that, or I missed it.

If the item was given as a gift (especially quilts) the information was good for insurance purposes.
