Posted - Mar 16 2014 : 08:21:48 AM Hay there,
I have been working on a few quilts for the Veterans of our great country. I am now working on one for a Vietnam Vet in my area. I thought it would be a great idea to make a virtual community quilt. This would be a quilt that had fabrics sent from people around the country. So, I am looking for scraps, jelly roll leftovers, fat quarters and pieces of anything red or white or blue. I will make good use of the fabrics you send becoz if it is not use for this quilt it will go into the next one. Please help.
I will post photos once I get started. I have received a few bags of scraps from various farmgirls (you know who you are) and I will be gleaning some of those fabrics for this quilt....and thank you. Send me a note at phrdaizy@aol.com and I will get you my street address. Your love and compassion will be stitched into every stitch and the finished quilt will be cherished by a person that worked to keep this country FREE.
Hugs and prayers, Daizy

Posted - Nov 02 2014 : 1:32:54 PM Hay there,
I thought I would give ya'll an update on the Quilt of Valor I am working on. I am not quite finished but my presentation is the day after Thanksgiving. My family is having our Thanksgiving celebration on that day and my veteran is invited....he's kind of like one of the family. Your fabrics have been made into flying geese and I am trying to find enough red white and blue fabrics for a scrappy border. Its gonna be such a surprise!! My local quilt angels here have volunteered to quilt it for me and it will be added to the total quilts being presented to veterans. Our goal is 100,000 quilts. I am honored that my quilt will count as one of the 100,000.
If any one would like to donate fabrics of red, white and blue then I will see that they get sewn into this boarder and your name and state will be added to the letter that will be attached the quilt. Any remaining fabrics will, of course, be used for future Quilts of Valor. My name and address are located in a post above this one. Please know that all the sewing angels and all the veterans appreciate your donations.

Posted - Mar 19 2014 : 2:20:23 PM Hey Daizy! I love what you are doing : ) I am cleaning out fabric I have collected for quilts and would love to send what I find to you. Do you want only red white and blue? I also have many cotton batts for baby quilts...could you use them? I used to quilt a lot but I devote my time to spinning, weaving and knitting now.
