I purchased two, brand new, king-size pillowcases from the Thrift Store for $4.00 the other day. I had never thought to look at pillowcases before...frankly the thought of using someone else's pillowcase grossed me out! Anyway, these were top quality fabric. I made the most beautiful apron from them and trimmed a new handtowel with the extra fabric left over. They will be a Christmas present.
Someday I'll quit being such a geek and figure out how to post pics!

GOOD idea Diane, wish we could see them, what is the print on the pillowcases, now aprons?

Cool! I haven't thought about using pillowcases for aprons... I DO have lots of single curtains that I buy at the thirft store (you know, the cafe length) which I think would be perfect for aprons- just add some fabric for the sash. I'll definitely catalog your idea in my "things to do" file!
