Posted - Dec 28 2013 : 09:53:38 AM What can I use to hold colored pencils? My hubby picked up on my wanting colored pencils and so I received a 150 set for Christmas. They came in a cardboard box with flimsy plastic trays. I need something that has drawers or trays that is sturdy and can hold many pencils. I do have a tea box that maybe could have some trays made. What would be other things I could use. Everything I look at to buy is too expensive. Would love some ideas. |

Posted - Dec 29 2013 : 7:46:22 PM I keep my colored pencils in an old sign painter's tool box that my great uncle had. It has several wide shallow drawers that were orginally designed for storing his paint brushes. I've seen similar boxes with shallow drawers in antiques stores that once held dental or medical tools, cigars, jewelery, auto parts, etc. Another idea is to check out artist supply stores (Dick Blick, Jerry's Artarama, etc) for pencil or paintbrush holders. I've seen nice zippered cases intended for holding a large set of pencils. There are tons of ways to carry your art supplies around so be creative and have fun finding the method that works best for you!
