Posted - Oct 27 2013 : 9:27:04 PM OMG! Saturday was our "Go Play' day..... and we did! We went to the little community 'Swap Meet' in Oakhurst and I scored some fun stuff, then we hopped over to a Vtg. Store going out of business sale, that we had heard about from a friend... OMG! I scored 27 vtg. patterns including an apron one from the early 1940's, and all for $10.00 Then we scooted on down the mountain to the Tarantula Festival in our community and met up with some of our friends.... What a great day ![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif)

Posted - Oct 29 2013 : 08:42:49 AM Those apron patterns from the '40's are super cute!! What a lucky find. They would be sweet sewn up with vintage looking fabric. I think Moda has a line of old fashioned prints.

Posted - Oct 27 2013 : 9:41:31 PM oh, and I am toying with using this vtg. apron pattern to make a Christmas apron for a apron swap that I am in....
These old patterns are so different compared to todays pre-printed patterns... back then, the patterns were pre-cut out and had pre-punched holes as 'markers'... I think I will re-copy the pattern onto plain newsprint so I can re-use it...

![](http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Snitz/Images/DSCF0275.JPG) before I use the original tissue pattern, I dry iron it smooth and then trace it onto plain (un-printed) news print... that way I don't ruin the vtg. pattern.
