Posted - Sep 09 2013 : 5:28:34 PM DH took me to the Quilt show in Madison last Friday, and the Sheep & Wool Festival Saturday. Sensory overload, so many ideas, so much beautiful stuff. i have decided I need to learn how to quilt, something my mother has been trying to get me to do for YEARS, i picked up a "beginning" stencil kit and a template. i also need to learn to weave. the roving and yarns are too beautiful. something has to be done with it. i haven't yet convinced myself that i need to learn to spin, but weaving, that i want to learn. i told DH i wanted a loom for C-Mas. i recently began knitting and crocheting again as therapy against depression. why did i ever stop? oh wait, i know--that evil four letter word WORK

Posted - Sep 11 2013 : 05:27:23 AM Charlotte, if you have time for a little drive, the Chicago Botanical Garden in Glencoe the weekend of November 8. Their "Fine Art of Fiber" show is quite something too and would keep your head spinning!

Posted - Sep 10 2013 : 2:11:45 PM Was it the one in Jefferson? I wanted so badly to go, but would have only been able to be there for maaaaybe 2 hours, which the hour and 45 minute drive seemed hardly worth it then. Think it's worth a trip next year?
