Well, after over 50 years of sewing I FINALLY, FINALLY have a "top of the line" sewing machine!

I started sewing when I was nine years old, old enough to join 4-H and have been sewing since. Always on less than perfect sewing machines.

I can't begin to tell you all the different ones I've had, some of which were very marginal! Some of them I didn't really like but it was all we could afford. I had a very basic Viking in the early 1990s which was a GOOD machine but we lost it in our house fire. I replaced it with a new Viking which has been good but it does a couple of things that frustrate me and authorized service centers don't seem to be able to solve.

My sister, who lives in Denver and is an experienced seamstress as well, asked me if I needed a "new" sewing machine. After some discussion with hubby we decided to go for it.

She was coming to visit so she brought to me . . a Bernina Record 930 Electronic and it is amazing! WOW! I've read all kinds of reviews from folks who LOVE their 930s and that this is one of the best Bernina ever made.

I've been sewing on it for a few days and it is WONDERFUL! I can't tell you how much less frustrated I am! I make aprons to sell so I do a tremendous amount of sewing and I'm just so blessed to have been able to sew with more pleasure!
YAY!!

Thanks for letting me share!
CJ

CJ,

I can't think of a more deserving person to get something nice like that. I have one of your lovely aprons and I think it's so beautiful that I won't even use it. In fact, I have it hanging on the back of my door in my crafting room and there it will stay forever as far as I am concerned. I wish you many happy hours of sewing on your new machine. I can't wait to see what you create next.

big hugs
Marcy

Oh CJ! What fun what fun is in store for you. I bet sewing with that is easy peasy.
Enjoy your new acquisition. Just think of the Glamping accessories you can whip up with that.

Congrats CJ, I've had Berninas for years. I have found the to be well functioning and easy to use. If yours didn't come with a 1/4 " foot and you plan to do any quilting, its worth the cost. Have fun!

How lovely for you CJ. I got a new Brother SE 400 for Christmas last year and I love it. I'm not a dedicated seamstress and mostly just do some mending or make simple things. I completely agree that having a nice machine makes all the difference. Nothing more frustrating that fighting a bad tension or stuffed up feed dogs on a used up and worn out sewing machine.

Yes, I'm looking forward to smoother sewing! We did have to remodel the area that the machine sits in from what it is in the pic but my hubby is very handy at that sort of thing and it's much better!
