Posted - Jul 01 2013 : 4:42:22 PM Hello ladies! I need some help with a sampler design!
I am not an experienced embroiderer, but I am planning on making a wedding sampler as a gift for a friend's upcoming nuptials. Nothing too fancy--their names and the wedding date, plus some little embellishments. I was planning on doing it primarily in cross stitch, since that's what I have the most experience in.
I would love to include Passionflowers (also known as Maypops) in the design because they are my friend's favorite flower. BUT I'm having trouble finding some examples of embroidered maypops.
Does anyone have any ideas, outlines, examples for this? They don't have to be in cross stitch, but since I'm not familiar with other stitches, I'd like to have a pretty clear pattern or example to go off of. Also, the size of the flowers doesn't really matter--maypops are so unique that I think you'd probably have to make them a bit bigger to be able to include their details. I'm fine making them the focus of the piece.
Any ideas?
