Hi Ladies,
I've found a rug hooking class next month but the cost is high, mainly the gas/hotel/etc, so is it a craft a beginner can catch on to easily? Or is a class a better way to start out? I've got the basic understanding....I THINK???
Rug hooking is sooo amazing! PLEASE any help would be great!
Thanks Judy

PS..how's the weather out there? We had snow again this morning..BRRRRR! Coldest spring in a 130 years.

country wishes!

I took a class but it was given at a local enrichment class given in the community. I really enjoyed it. It was a class that lasted two evenings.
I thought it was easy to catch on. I haven't done my own but have just bought a couple of kits with all of the supplies included. I just use a hoop and do not have the nice frame. I have not done a large rug. Just wall hanging type kits.
I think it is a lot of fun :)

Hi Judy, Here is a picture of a Rug Hooking book I was going to put on for barter. If you are interested in it let me know. I will email you.

And very expensive! Cutter, wool, linen, patterns, hooks, frame ... it goes on and on ... I studied under Pat Moyer ... mostly color theory and planning. With out knowing color ... you will be lost. First investment SHOLUD be a color wheel. Pulling "loops" is the easy part ...
