Posted - Jan 01 2013 : 10:39:22 AM Folks I'm no fan of Walmart by any means but had to go there to get a couple things I cannot get anywhere else in town for my pets. I was thrilled to see they restocked embroidery thread and have a very nice selection. We don't have any craft stores here and two very small fabric stores that are charming and quaint but don't have a lot due to restricted space. Wally World had discontinued the floss, I was so disappointed. I had to resort to yard sales and Goodwill, slim pickins indeed so I was extremely pleased to see they brought it back.

Posted - Jan 02 2013 : 2:59:41 PM Kristina, I know what you mean by wanting to open up your own craft store. I've been thinking about that. But all I did was start a home-based sewing business. Laurie

Posted - Jan 02 2013 : 05:09:05 AM Our Wal-mart stores stopped selling it too. The larger city stores have a very small selection of fabric now, and some stopped selling it.
The one Jo-Ann Fabric store closed and only one other one is still open (without traveling too far).
It makes a person want to go open a craft store you know? We have a Hobby Lobby, but their prices are expensive. I have to wait for a 40% coupon and then it's only good for one single item, and I have 20-25 minute drive to get there.

Posted - Jan 02 2013 : 05:04:58 AM I have floss to barter. As long as you're not looking for a specific number - I can dig out reds, yellows etc. I just don't have it organized enough to see if I have a certain red for example.
Let me know if you're interested.

Posted - Jan 01 2013 : 7:04:56 PM Years ago walmart discontined all of their fabric and flosses etc. This made me upset. Now I have to drive to Hobby Lobby which is about 20 miles away onw way. So when I go I stock up on floss. I should be fine for about a year. Laurie

Posted - Jan 01 2013 : 2:50:20 PM Yeah when Walmart discontinued stocking it, I had to figure things out too with floss. Although I'll admit it went down to like 10 cents or maybe even 5 cents a skien. I bought around 100 dollars worth from the 5 local walmarts that were close to me in NYC! I see it's back in stock here again. I remember though us right on this board contacting walmart about it! So many of us were no longer going to be able to buy floss locally!
