I am modge podgeing the sides of a dresser and I put the paper on and the next day it is all 3/4 curled off. Any suggestions?

Judy, I would try putting the Mod Podge all over the piece not on the paper that you are putting on. I usually put down a good layer of mod podge, put the piece on top of that and then mod podge the top as well. The temperature may make a difference as well. I have done quite a few pieces using mod podge but, have never done a piece of furniture. |

It can't hurt to try at this point. Think I would bring it to a warmer place. Maybe the paper will become my pliable and you might be able to save it.

I applied modge podge to the side of the cabinet that I had sanded and dusted off. The paper is scrapbook paper, I modge podged the back of the paper, placed it in place and put more on while smoothing it with a full size paint brush. My husband thought it might have been too cold in the garage since it went into the low 40's. Does anyone know if I got it all wet with the modge podge again if it will soften up and be able to repost it.

Did you put mod podge over the paper when finished? And was the paper heavy?

If the dresser has a shiny finish on it, that may be the reason that your mod podge didn't stick. You might need to rough up the surface a little bit with a piece of sandpaper.

Judy,
I've never mod-podged a dresser but I have done a multitude of other projects which have been successful. I just brush on a layer of the mod-podge to the surface I'm adhering to and then lay on whatever I'm putting on, smooth it out and keep an eye on it for any further need for smoothing and let it dry. Then I brush on one or more coats over the top, depending on what it is and the finish I want and letting it dry between coats.
I don't know if that helps . . . hope so, even a bit!
