Hi, Lizabeth. I used my Pfaff sewing machine which has a integrated walking foot. That really helped. Even so, the corners are the most difficult part. I used clear nylon in the top thread but a neutral regular thread in the bobbin.

After I made these I realized the directions in the book make a larger sized bag than the ones in the Shoulder to the Wheel issue. After Christmas I am going to experiment with sizes.

My favorite one was the yellow one which my sister snagged from me on her last visit. :-) I gave away one other one.

This was a great project to do in stages. I cut the pages one day, my daughter helped me laminate them with the clear contact paper another time and then I sewed them all up at one time. The sheer ribbon were leftovers from buying fat quarters of fabric bundled up and tied with them. I love when you can use something that was "free" in another project.

Clare,
use the REPLY TO TOPIC instead of the QUICK REPLY, that will bring up the faces and should be able to drag and drop (I think!)
Beautiful Bags!!!!!
Great job!

Clare, what beautiful bags! The pink one is quite pretty. Did you find making these not too complicated? Any tips on stitch length/tension settings?

Thank you, Karen, for the info on photobucket.com I set up an account and fumbled through it. Now, how do I post the smiley faces from the sidebar in replies? I feel like such a newbie o nthis whole chatroom thing. :-)
