Posted - Sep 23 2006 : 4:59:11 PM I finally finished my baby quilt. Made it for my as-of-yet unconceived future child. This is my second quilting project ever. I'm addicted to hand sewing/quilting! ![](http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c223/rlhayden/000_0010.jpg) |

Posted - Sep 24 2006 : 2:57:05 PM That is one beautful quilt... and all done by habd...I made my first three full size quilts by hand because I liked the idea of being able to take it with me...I used the quilt as you go idea from Georgia Bonesteel..?? I think that was her name....still have probably 12 to 15 yellow Log cabin blocks to put together...I love making them but not the quilting and don't know how to machine quilt..

Posted - Sep 24 2006 : 12:58:24 PM I mean quilts that are just small...about 2 feet by 2 feet big. Basically they are baby-doll quilts. |

Posted - Sep 24 2006 : 05:18:26 AM It's awesome to have a new obsession! My next project is to complete mini quilts to give for Christmas. They're small and going are designed to hang off of a shelf or on a table. After that, I'm going to make a queen sized quilt for our bed. And then I have a wall-hanging in mind with some fabric featuring my favorite children's book character (Olivia the pig). SOooo much to do!!! :) |

Posted - Sep 23 2006 : 9:16:48 PM Thanks ya'll! I'm pretty proud of it. I taught myself how to hand sew and quilt this past January because I wanted a new hobby and have found this one to be simply addictive! Now I'm a woman posessed...there is material EVERYWHERE around this apartment. Got about 15 projects on the burner! |

Posted - Sep 23 2006 : 5:07:09 PM I did that sort of the same thing before I had kids. I worked in a childrens clothing store ( 2 infact) and when this would go on clearance I would buy childrens cloths ( neutral ones that either gender could wear). My kids had enough clothes to go from birth to 9 months old and a few in 12 months before they where ever even conceived.
I like the blanket you did a lovely job. I hope you have many more hours of enjoyment from it holding a baby in the future sometime. Sunshine
