One of my riding friends is originally from TX. She likes bluebonnets and mentioned having a painting done from one of her photos. I mentioned that I had seen some nice quilted wall-hangings and would be willing to make one for her.

She looked up Petals of My Heart by McKenna Ryan and fell in love! I told her that we could go halvsies (is that a word?) on the pattern and if she bought the fabric I would make it for her. Well, she bought the pattern and wants to make her own! So I'm paying for half the pattern; she's paying for half the Steam-a-Seam and we will be on our way. Can't wait.

So when I called her yesterday, she was looking at pointy scissors and teflon pressing sheets, etc. I think we will be hitting the quilt shop soon.

Last night I went to Kathy's house and we started on the quilt. Our first block is the trillium. It took over two hours from tracing to pressing. It's really pretty. Only 16 more blocks to go!

That sounds like so much fun. When you have finished I hope you will post a picture. I once made a doll with a friend of mine who lived in anothe state. We shared pictures afterward and had the best time.

Yesterday we went to the quilt shop and bought fabric! Of course, all the Hoffman fabrics were NOT grouped together in numerical order. Go figure. JR laughed wickedly when I asked if they were. We did find some Hoffman fabrics that were on the fabric list but we didn't like the color or the design so we determined what color the name referred to and chose our own fabric and marked it as such. We were there about two hours and chose about half of the fabrics. Then we went to the Mexican restaurant and had $3 maragaritas!

How nice. I would love to know how to quilt. When finished, I'd love to see a picture, if possible!

I once did a quilting project with my sister who lived in the next state from me. We both had the same quilting book so we agreed on a pattern. It was fun knowing she was working on the same project as I. Her daughter even thought it sounded fun so she joined in and was making a quilt of her own. My sister was more dilegent than I and she got her quilt done months before mine but it was fun comparing them once we got together again.

Nothing is funner (is that even a word?) than having a buddy to craft with. When you get done, post pictures of them both if you can!
