I have not yet gotten them. I was hoping to get them over the weekend because I hate to buy a new crafty project when I don't have time during the week to use them! How are you going to do yours Audrey?

what a great idea! I bought stamps about 2 months ago for a project. This would be fun for my girls to do too!

I saw this post and asked DH if he happened to have any of these stamps and lo and behold he answered YES! His are 1/4" and I'm wanting to use them on tin can lids rather than the silverware. I love, love the silverware but saw MJ's hole punched tin can lids first and have been saving lids for about 2 years. Then I saw these that were stamped and thought, why not on the lids? Can't wait to try. Liz have you gotten your stamps yet?

Good boy Hobbs! I love and miss you.

A good sized piece of round log cut to come up to hip height with a flat piece of bar steel mounted on it will serve as a makeshift anvil and is a whole lot easier to move. As long as the surface that is underneath it is sturdy (table made from 2X4's), you can just put a piece of flat steel of at least 1/4 inch thickness on top and bang away. I have been working with steel and torches since my 20's and that works as well as anything.

Or these. http://www.amazon.com/Piece-Deluxe-Number-Letter-Stamping/dp/B0017VW2AM

You also need an anvil or something on which to strike.

I cannot master those things that I have not tried.

My guess would be these and a mallet:
