Hi Ruthie Ann,

I buy my yarn on-line from a few different places. The Loopy Ewe (www.theloopyewe.com) Etsy (www.etsy.com) and Webs (www.yarn.com) and finally Knit Picks (www.knitpicks.com). As for the kind of yarn your looking for I would start looking at Webs. Theya have great customer service and if you give them a call you describe the kind of project you want to make and they'll find the just the right kind of yarn you need.

I usually buy from JoAnns.com, Sears.com (you have to run a search--but they have my favorite brand hidden in back), smileysyarns.com, lionbrand.com, or elann.com (luxury yarns at discount prices). You can't go wrong with anything from Herrschners, either.

Pity I'm on a yarn diet right now!

The only place I've ever bought yarn online is Herrschner's. They make a really nice rug-weight yarn. They also have genuine 8 oz. skeins of acrylic, as well as a whole BUNCH of other yarns. If you sign up for the SmartSavings club, you save 10% on every order, and you will get a coupon for free shipping on a future order, among a few other perks.
