Has anyone tried this kind of project? I stumbled onto it on you tube. I love the way it looks. Wanting to make it my newest project, but looking for advice.

There are no limits to how they are used. First is to reel the silk off which is how we get silk fibers.. Next your imagination kicks in - jewelry, altered art forms, home decor, spinninig, felting and structual construction in free form scuplting. The lists go on. They are just so magical and have no limits. I sell them all over the world and have been doing so since 2001 and love seeing how others create with them. I also have many who have won National awards with my dyed cocoons and am blown away by the ways in which they are thinking of them.

As for the nuno felting - taught that for many years and it is a fun form to play with - it is a great way to also use fiber in your altered art sewing forms... If you want to see some creative works just go to Etsy and type it in and you will find some amazing felters.

Just was wondering if anyone has ever done this? I did watch more videos, and it looks unique and fun. Okay work, but fun work! I think making scarves would be great gift ideas.
I was thinking of finding some silk scarves, and finding some merino wool and trying my hand at it. Just decorating a plain scarf, nothing too heavy.
Grace what do you use the silk cocoons for?
