Hi! Wondering how to get started in candle making. Wondering what I need to get strted and is hard to make soy candles? Wondering if anyone knows where to find supplies for a reasonable prices?

I buy soy candle wax and i use sweet little teacups as well as ornate punch bowl cups for my candles.
Wick in, melt wax, add E.O. to the wax. Then I pour the wax into the 'holder'(what ever you chose to use) I fill the container 1/2 way with wax, let it cool a bit then pour in the rest of the wax,,,this helps keep the center from sinking.
then I attach a bow & gift tag with the scent of the candle.
punch cups, tea cups, little metal gelitin molds, even deep seashells make great holders.
As for the 'wick' you can buy it by the length, cut to size and use a paperclip as a weight for the wick or you can buy pre-made wicks w/their little metal weights.
I to use an old coffee can, an old laddel and an old pan (as the double boiler)... some waxes can even be melted in the microwave.....check the lables.

I just made some candles with soy. I found a bag at Hobby Lobby for $10. A little pricey but I wanted to try making some. I also had a brick of bees wax. Very hard to shave off. But I love bees wax candles. It was very expensive. I got it a few years ago at What is now Whole Foods for $19.00. I need to find a local person with bees for their wax. I have a metal coffee can that I made a little poring spout in and an old pot that I boil water in to melt the wax. You can spend a fortune on supplies or you can get creative and make your own. Have fun with it! I want to make some for the market to sell this year along with soap.

Look at Wholesale Supplies Plus. I believe I ordered my wax there. There's different qualities of soy wax, also. I think I bought a middle of the road quality. You should be able to get your wicks and safety stickers, if you need those. The soy wax melts very well and fast. Make sure it's not too hot before adding any scent. I have found it hard to make colored candles. They never come out as dark as I want. Wholesale Supplies Plus also has a lot of instructions/tutorials.
