it is finished; or do you start something new while working on a long going one ; like a quilt ; or crocheted or knitted afghan ?
it seems I have bunches of projects;( needlework I love to do) in progress
I do get it done ; but sometimes it takes a long time ; like quilts; as i love to hand quilt , hugs sheila

I work on no more than 3 projects at a time. Right now I'm working on a large crocheted blanket,dishcloths and dish towels for my daughters 1 st apartment.

I usually finish the project, but I might have one knitting, one sewing and one X-stitch going at the same time. I know how Teresa feels about avoiding the sewing room over certain projects. There have been some that I have balled up and walked them out to the trash bin. It was such a huge relief. I highly recommend it if you have anything like that that fills you with that sense of dread. DUMP IT!

I usually finish what I start. Right now I am dragging my heels on binding a grandmother's flower garden quilt I agreed to do for a friend. I know I can do it, but it's very time consuming and tedious work. Avoiding my sewing room because of it. :-( |

Cleaned out my craft closet not too long ago and found a basket with a half finished baby blanket I was crocheting for #14 gb who is now 8 months old. Luckily, it's the sort of blanket that is on the larger size, so I can finish it and he can still get some use out of it when I see him this summer. |

I love this. I usually finish one out of every five projects I start. I decided that what I need are small projects. Mini doll quilts, crocheted dishclothes, etc. That is the only way I get anything finished. I do have a few larger pieces complete,but mostly they get left behind. I have one crochet blanket that I have kept and have been working on for four years.

Oh Sheila, you are not alone for sure. I started several projects last spring, and let them go over the summer, then started more projects. I just get so excited over a new pattern, I have no self-control in that area.
This year, however, I am working like a mad woman to finish larger projects, so I'm not stressing around the end of gardening season. I've started making Christmas gifts, but still have other projects from last spring that are chugging along.

I currently have a quilt top I am working on by hand when I sit in front of the TV with the family. The rest of the time lately has been working on aprons for my soon to be opened Etsy site. Not alot of UFO's but a few projects on the side to work on when I'm bored or just to make something for the family. I've made and am making some doo-rags for my brother going thru chemo and now my son wants one too out of video game fabric I found.

hahaha! some days I feel like the "Queen of UFO's ".....
If they are small projects I usually get them finished, 'start to finish'...but if they are large, time intensive.... they tend to end up in a basket in my sewing room,,, my "I'll get around to it later" basket... which becomes my "UFO" basket! lol!

Oh my goodness- how I desire to finish projects. I have many I have started and have not finished and some that I have finished- normally the ones that I'm making for myself get into the unfinished basket...I will try harder to finish some for me!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who gets bored with projects and has to start something new and then another project, etc. Right now I'm doing three embroidery projects for three different people.
Julie, loved your comment about not being able to die because you have too many projects to get done. I'm with ya on that sentiment.
Think I got my "working on more than one project" from my mom and her sister - they always had more than one thing going at a time. |

Oh yes, I have lots of UFO's in all types of crafts. I usually don't have more than one of any given craft at a time though. I have a knit shawl I've been working on for over 5 years! And it's not a hard pattern either, I just get rather bored with it. I have lots of pieced quilt tops but they need sandwiching and quilting. I always think of those as two seperate projects. I'm intimidated by the quilting part of it so they just sit. Too bad for me since some are really nice!

I worked on my quilt I am trying to finish ; but it is a slow process as I am the only one hand quilting on it; I love to hand quilt
this quilt and the other one I just finished ; I started way back in 2000 ;
my dad was dying of cancer; then we were in the process of starting to build our house we are in now .
then I had to get rid of alot of stuff and de clutter
i hated parting with a lot of things ; but just could not keep it . ha hugs sheila

I always have more than one project going. Keeps me from getting bored with any one thing. How's the bobbin lace coming along? Have you tried it yet? I would love to see a picture of something you've done.

I think my Mom cured me of not starting a new project until I had the first one done way back as a little thing. So, even now, I just concentrate on one small thing that I can finish and usually when I am done with that I want something totally different to do which makes it easy to just move on. But, I think when you are very gifted in various arts, it is easy to have several things going at once and some waiting in the wings. So, it is understandable how things pile up. Maybe my salvation is that I am only able to do reallys simple projects anyway! Ha! Right now, I just learned to knit socks for my MJF badge and that is totally taking up time and I can't imagine trying to do something else right now. But then, maybe I am just a one at a time kinda gal! |

I am glad I am not the only one
I do love to do the big projects like quilts ; and i love hand quilting
but ; after awhile my fingers are so sore ( I do use a thimble , and side leather finger procter i made; and a leather procter on my fore finger )
i have a hard time using the last one .
It seems ; I just get going , ;
I do finish them , but it takes awhile ; ha , hugs sheila

I have always had many projects going. Recently I gathered them all together and put them according to type and wrote them down. I have over 150 projects and filled 7 tubs! One is a project I started 25 years ago. I will get them done, I will get them done...someday. |

I'm laughing here. No, I have so many projects started. I am in the process of cleaning out our huge attic and came across several bags of started projects. I just had to sit and laugh.

I have so many projects started, but not finished,then I find something new to work on, and it keep multiplying. I sew until I get tired, then go to my crocheting or knitting, then crafing when my hands get sore, etc., etc. I will get these done in time!!!!

Finish I have NO ufos at this time. When I moved I had LOTS of fabric that I thought I needed and so moved it got moved to 2 different places and then to the thrift store I had over 10 large tubs of fabric but I never seemed to have enough for a project so I got rid of it all and now only work on a project one at a time from beg to end.
And the scraps go to Girl scouts or any one who wants a box I fill up a 11.95 priority box and send them out.
