I was thinking of making some needle cases for fall

Ideas I have so far
an acorn shape ( inspired by frannies acorns)
an oak leaf
a maple leaf
Pumpkin

I want to make these out of wool and do a little stitching on it for the fall swap does any one have any other sugjestions for a fall items. I think I will make them have a few pages so people can put differnt types of needles on differnt pages.

Any suggestions

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

If I remember correctlythere are two types the type I am making anf the type frannie makes.
a pinkeep is a fabric needle case with a ribbon closure
but it can be roll of wool that you keep pins in sort of like a small pillow also ( a pin cushion) filled with sawdust sort of like what frannie does

please correct me if I am wrong

i think the 'welcoming sign' of a pineapple covers all seasons of the year. i saw a wonderful one .. cost .. $48. ... soooooo .. i didn't buy it .. but sooooo simple to make. wonderful colonial-style small print fabric that 'somewhat' resembled pineapple 'skin'. the top was a great little green print.

have you ever made 'colonial' PINKEEPS?

These needle cases sound great - what a good idea for gifts for people who have autumn birthdays, too. I just love all of the fall things that you all have mentioned, and I can't wait to see what Sunshine's creative mind and hands come up with!

How about an apple? I always remember the caramel apples some our neighbors gave on Halloween. And of course bobbing for apples. Quite the fall thing.

Peace

To Sunshine: I agree; the fall exchange is going to be great. It is such an exhilirating season to begin with; good ideas start coming like leaves falling off the trees.

What about some Halloween needle cases? A ghost? Witch's hat? Or harvest needle cases: an ear of corn? A lovely fall pear? Food: a pumpkin pie, a loaf of bread. . . .

Maybe I'll make just one stawberry for berries, as she made me some pincshions and wanted nothing in return and I have been trying to come up with something. Should have known she would give it to me herself the idea that is.
