on my husbands jeans? His keys are so heavy (hangs them from the belt loop for work) that it breaks the loop off at the bottom. I've been hand sewing them on, but it usually doesn't last long.

Is there a better way? Grommets? I hate seeing a perfectly good pair of work jeans go into the weekend pile if I can fix them properly.

That's an interesting problem. Are you using heavy duty thread or string? Even the lace doily yarn/threads, or fishing line. What about sewing on a metal loop to attach the keys?
