My daughter and I, while together for Christmas, were discussing calendars and planners and how we want certain things in ours and how could we come up with something to suit our UNIQUE, INDIVIDUAL needs.

We both have the new 2012 MaryJanes Farm calendars which came with the smaller, personal calendars. So, by putting a cardstock/lace, etc "spine" on it,and punching holes it fits into a smaller 3-ring binder. The binder measures 7 1/2 by 9 inches, is 1 1/2 inches thick and has the clear pockets on the cover so you can slip in anything you want to make your own cover.

Many years ago because of the work I was doing I needed more features in a planner and used a Daytimer for years. It's been at least 10 years since I quit using those, but had lots and lots of the extra goodies such a clear pages for business cards, etc., note pages, address/phone number pages, birthday/anniverary pages . . . in short, a LOT of wonderful calendar/planner accessories, enough for the two of us to share.

So, we got creative, sorted through everything, cut some pieces of printed cardstock for embellishing and started putting together our very own calendar/planners. Robin is a teacher so she wanted "academic planning" pages. I want pages for planning craft projects, my "Farm Fresh Aprons" production, etc., etc.

Here is where I started. I don't have my cover completely decorated . . that will come with a little more time. Of course, that can be changed. Because it is a 3-ring binder, pages can be easily added and/or removed.

Just wanted to share!!

So my divider pages are done. However I actually ended up using some of the pages from MJF calendars from previous years...pages that really stood out to me as me. I just love my calendar!

Here are photos of mine. I don't have as many as Mom but I also don't have all the fancy that she has on the inside. Which gives me ideas for making the inside more pretty!

CJ--

I love it! I have an old small three ring. Maybe I'll try that, too! I have so much trouble finding a calendar/date book that is "just right"...making my own would solve that!

More of the calendar/planner after more organization.
We took pieces of coordinating "Garden Party" cardstock for decorating the cover and pages. At this point I don't know what Robin's looks like as she took hers home to finish and she lives in Phoenix.

I put the MJF personal calendar in the front with a plastic divider page behind it to separate from daily planner pages. I put some double sided paper inside as a background for whatever I put in there. I have added a beautiful tag given to me by a farmgirl sister . . but can add other things I like on both sides.

I have a little apron business "Farm Fresh Aprons" so I created a section to keep track of my consignments, orders and such. This is the front of the divider.

This is the back of the Apron divider

Because I'm "mother hen" chapter leader for our Henhouse Chapter "FARMGIRLS SOUTHWEST" I have a section for that, including addresses and info for all our "chicks', etc.
This is the front - I used one of MaryJanes postcards (2/3rd of it)with a tag sent to me by one our "chicks". I wrote on that tag the quote from the back of the postcard.

This is the other side of the Henhouse divider, using the other 1/3rd of the postcard, a "business card" for our Henhouse, etc.

This is the front, using some of the "Garden Party" Cardstock, the "Farmgirl" Card to show the front of it, a prayer sent to me by a farmgirl sister, a "best friend" clip to match my daughter's. I've left room for more things to be added as the year progresses.

This is the back cover, using more of the cardstock, another "Farmgirl" Card so you can see the other side, a little clipart from a farmgirl . . . and room for more things.

There is also a section for "FAMILY INFO" which includes a compact calendar with birthdays, etc. A "MONEY MATTERS" section which is where I keep track of monthly expenses, etc.

Also have smaller sections for "FARMGIRL SWAPS", "PLAN AHEAD" for months/years ahead, "ATCs SWAPS" (in another group outside of Farmgirl; and a few frequently used addresses.

The binder cover itself has little pockets on the insides where you can slip this and that. So, that's it right now and I love it! It's personal, has what I need/want and not a bunch of things I won't use.
Thanks for letting me share!

Love this idea! Just as soon as I find my MJF Personal Calender I will do this, as like you I need more space to put things and writing area. I have been praying to St. Michael (Patron Saint of lost items) to help me find mine, I just know it is in this house somewhere:-)
