I need patterns for crocheting horse (western) saddle blankets/pads, fly hats/bonnets similar to the one I posted a photo of in the "barnyards" forum, and anything else you can crochet for a horse. I appreciate any help. I spent wayyyyyy too many hours searching the Internet for free patterns. I'm not being "cheap" and because I simply don't want to pay for patterns, I just have to watch our budget more closely.
Also, any patterns for "goat coats" for newborns would be appreciated.
I did find a book I ordered from the library on making horse clothing, but I don't think it involved crocheting. I'll know more when it comes in.

I used this one for my Cousin's Bottle Fed Preemie. She's now 3yrs old, and LOVED wearing her coat! I had to make the pattern smaller, since she was so tiny. It worked out well.

Great,I love that site and have found so many patterns there,I've made the one earless bonnet several times and embellished them with Irish Crocheted roses and beads and they've turned out real nice.
I will look for that horse blanket pattern,I know I just saw it on some free pattern site.

Try Ravelry.com,you just have to register and create a sign-in and you have access to alot of crochet patterns,a big majority of them are free downloads,they have two horse bonnet patterns available for free,one with ears and a fringe and the other without ears is a little more sleek and refined.

We put our dog's coat on the smallest goat and it fit perfect. I may just use that pattern for baby goat coats too.

Could you use large dog blanket/coat patterns for the goat coats? It seems to me I know someone who has sheep that does this. They might do the trick with a little finagling for size, and you may also be able to upsize them for the horses. Just a random thought.
Our little dog is a Silky Terrier, which means she looks like a Yorkie, but she's built bigger. We have a devil of a time finding little sweaters for her because the ones for small dogs are too small, and medium dogs are often too big. We usually resort to grabbing a hook and some yarn and making a chain to either go the length we want or the circumference of her neck. This may not be the perfect solution for you, but it may have to be your starting point.
