Posted - Dec 08 2011 : 4:51:09 PM I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was super cute. Unfortunately, I don't crochet. So I thought that I would share it here for those of you that do!
Materials: - Yarn (green for the strand, and then 4 additional colors for the lights. I used red, orange, yellow, and teal.) - F/5 3.75mm crochet hook - tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Make the light bulbs: Ch 6. Going back up the chain, sc, dc, trc, dc, sc. Cut yarn and pull through last loop to fasten off.
Make three of these in each color.
Assemble the strand: With the green yarn, ch 20. Take your first light bulb and single crochet through the top loops together (one stitch). Ch 20 and repeat the light bulb attachment. Continue to do this until you've run out of light bulbs, and ch 20 to finish. Weave in loose ends.
This version measures about 4.5 feet, but you can make this as long as you want -- just keep adding lights!
