Hi girls!

I got another machine! It's an 1894 willcox and gibbs sewing machine. it sews beautiful. I got it on ebay. It's amazing how smooth it runs. I dont have a treadle base for it, but would like to get one down the road. I think i'm going to add a motor to it. There is a motor on it now, but the date on it is 1919! the cord for it is shot so i'm not even going to try it. it's amazing to me how the older, simpler sewing machines with less parts outlast the plastic sewing machines of today.

you can see all my machines on my blog:http://modern-day-laura.blogspot.com/search/label/Sewing%20Room

I LOVE it so much! I found a guy on ebay who sells new motors, so I'm going to go that route for now and maybe turn it into a treadle later.

It's a beauty and you're correct, they don't make 'em like they
use to!

What a beautiful sewing machine!
Love all your machines!

I have 5 myself...
Singer Futura with embroidery attachment---still learning that bit
White Jeans machine I bought in the 90's while working at Minnesota Fabrics (drag this one everywhere)
Singer Slant-o-matic from the 60's that was my hubby's mom's (this one sews like a champ)
Singer Treadle I'm working on getting the cabinet back in shape.
Domestic straight stitch that was my grandmother on my mom's side (this one really needs work it sat in a grainery for 40 years)
also a toy size tin sewing machine, chain stitch, hand crank...it's cute, and works, but doesn't get use.
then of course you have to add my Babylock serger.

I am so jealous!!!! I wish I had room for more than one, but I don't. I live in a very small one bedroom home with no basement or garage, and only 2 very small closets. They are beautiful though, and I enjoy looking at the pictures. What treasures they are!!!
