I bought a few of these at a market and decided to make one myself.

I bought these for .97 each

Center the hot pad under the towel. Pin and sew a straight line.

Sew a pretty button for the loop on the hot pad.

Here's the finished towel.

I hope the instructions and pics were easy to understand. Enjoy!

ok,
I had to make a trip into Spokane yesterday so I popped into one of those $1 stores & bought 5 kitchen towels & 5 hotpads/potholders... I need light weight gift ideas to send to Germany & these fit the bill! Not to mention will not take much time/work to assemble...leaving me more time for other projects & mischief! lol!
Thanx Mucho Grande for this quick & easy idea.

I was thinking that it might also be possible to use the elastics used for ponytails as fasteners for the buttons. Just a thought. Thanks, Julie, for sharing your very cute hand wiper.

This might even be easy enough for the sewing challenged like myself!! Now I just need to find a good deal on the hot pads and towels!!!

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

Betty- I would sew the hot pad and towel first then place hot pad around your oven handle to find where to put your button. I think you will find that the hot pad will have plenty of room even with putting the button at the top. Let me know if you need more step by step pictures.

How do you use the button-on feature, especially if you have a rather thick handle for your oven? Do you fasten it with elastic?

That is a great idea. And I could make one in the favorite color of each the Cast Iron Butt Club ladies! I also want to make the grapevine wreaths in the appropriate color for each lady. These are great Christmas ideas since I made everyone aprons last year and didn't know what to do this year that was different but still handmade. Thanks!!

This is a great project! Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking this would be a good sewing project for the ladies in the shelter.
