Posted - Aug 09 2011 : 11:04:09 AM Susie Angie hit the nail on the head. This is how I make my quilted purses. If I see one I like then I go to my stash, find just the right material and start quilting. Using a watererasable pen, I mark off a grid with my ruler making my lines about 1/2", 1", 1 1/2" apart. It depends on how big my bag is going to be: small, large, tote etc..... Then I sew it together the way Angie suggested. Happy quilting.

Posted - Aug 06 2011 : 04:33:41 AM I saw one of these the other day on a lady who was at an auction. It was so cute! I should have went up to her and asked how she made it, but I didn't.
There's a super easy and detailed tutorial here, SusieK!, with pictures!

Posted - Aug 05 2011 : 9:30:48 PM Are you talking about quilting pieces and then sewing the sides together to make a bag/purse? If so, make the "quilt" and then cut the pattern out of the "fabric" you sewed together. Then line it with plain fabric. That's what I would suggest.
