I've only been knitting a short time, and a neat thing happened. My girls had a campout and one 17 yo stayed most of the day. She saw my Knitting books from the library, and between me and my younger two girls (9, 12), we taught her to knit. She is heading to the store for her own needles and yarn. How cool is that?

I love when what I do changes someone. I have to say there is nothing better - I once taught a girl from Tibet who was here for surgery and was going to be here for over a year. She came to a show I was a vendor at really wanted to learn to spin but in her country you had to be 12 before they taught you and only if the grandmother approved. I took my lunch hour to teach her and now six years later she is the top spinner in her family and bring a great income in for her whole family.

See we can change the world with our skills. Great Job and Great Story.

It's funny how just having a book laying around can spark an interest in someone. This girl that we taught, loves to paint and draw. She painted a picture of my oldest daughter on her horse, and gave it to her this weekend. She's very talented and loves to try new things.

BTW, I taught myself from YouTube, after I gave up on "how-to" books. :)

that is very very cool! I have always hoped daughter would show some interest. Maybe once she finishes her nursing degree she will find some time, and interest!
