Hello all!
I am going to start scrap-booking my dream farm, and idea from MaryJane's magazine. I have never scrap-booked anything before, so I am a total newbie!
Are there good places online to by scrap-booking accessories and needed items/tools? I know Hobby Lobby and Michael's will have things for me, but online is sometimes a great resource.
Do any of you ladies scrapbook? I would love to see/hear ideas!

The dollar store is a great place to find what you need for scrapbooking. Also Big Lots, they tend to get shipments in every once and a while. Keep your joanns coupons handy and watch for the paper to go down to a super low price. I do a tiny bit of scrapbooking and the best investment I got was this box at ACMoore http://www.acmoore.com/p-97559-mackinac-moon-paper-box-4set-green.aspx at least something similar. It holds all my larger papers, all my crazy scissors and a few cutout in ziplock baggies. Before this box, they were in a grocery bag and so many of the papers were damaged.
I like going to ACMoore for my items, they will have books for 7.99 and refills for about 2.99, then with coupons that you can google for it can get cheaper!

www.creativememories.com they are a little expensive but VERY GOOD products that will last forever. On the cheaper side www.currentcatalog.com
I have always felt scrapbooking is a personal experience and should show who you and your family are. Dont get too fancy. I have noticed over the years some pages can be too busy and the pictures get lost on the page. Jounral,Journal,Journal write down tons of facts and information, every last detail.

Thanks Nini, as always you are a source of info :). I do print quotes etc from the net, and pics I need as well. It is just some stamps and other tools that are expensive in the specialty stores..hence my visit to the "dollar store" lol :)

Casey - I LOVE to scrapbook, but I do a lot of papercrafting in general. I do have a website you can visit (below) with Close To My Heart, where you'll find lots of free how-to videos and ideas to check out (you don't have to buy anything, just click and watch them!), as well as lots of tools, stamps, coordinating papers and accessories, and great "how to" reference books you can purchase. I also frequent Joanne's and love Michaels for their sales and clearances, and I find ebay to be invaluable as well. You can also get great deals on supplies from tv shopping channels - at the very least, try to catch a few of their shows for inspiration! :) Having said that, though - you and Marian may both benefit from scanning the internet for various free downloads of ephemera and images, poetry, lyrics, etc. that will best coordinate with your theme. If you have a printer and access to the internet, you can find just about everything you need for free! You can also search online to see all sorts of wonderful scrapbooking projects by some really talented, artsy people - you can find inspiration just about anywhere! If there are any specific things I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask here or email me! I would love to help you with ideas! I am a scrapbooker...well a beginner really lol. I go to our "dollar-store" and buy stickers and other things I can use for scrapping. They also sell a couple of tools like the special scissors and a few punch thingies, plus a couple of stamps. Not much and the ones they carry are not "me" but the ones they sell in the specialty store are so expensive here unfortunately. Most scrap items are expensive if you go to the craft/specialty stores that is why I use the Dutch equivalent to your "dollar-store" eventhought they just carry a few items :(
Am looking forward to seeing more ideas here :)
