I'm nearly done with my first big girl project - a raglan sleeve sweater. My question is this: Is seaming together diagonal pieces (such as raglan sleeves) the same as horizontal and vertical seams? When seaming, which loops (or whatever) do you pick up to seam together?
I have yet to see a book that describes diagonal seaming - just the vertical or horizontal seams. Maybe for drawing purposes this is easier to illustrate in a book, but it leaves me so frustrated! And they don't seem to go into much detail on how it's done, which leaves beginners like me scratching their heads.
Help! I want to do this right, and have strong professional seams that I don't have to go back and 'fix'.

that is the way i slip stitch...i set the pieces side by side instead of face to face...it makes a nicer seam

Come to think of it - the sides (not the top and bottom) of all crochet are the same whether it's on a diagonal or not. So, am just going to have to play around and see what works best for me. I kind of like the method where you lay the pieces flat next to each other and seam it up that way so you don't get that bulky look. I'll certainly try the slip stitch as well! Who knows until I try it!

i usualy seam everything crochet with a slip stitch. it blends well and makes a sturdy join. i don't know if it is the proper way, but it works beautifuly.

I have never crocheted a sweater (just ponchos/wraps) so I hope someone here has an answer for you.
