I have been looking and looking and am unable to find on. Most of my pants suits (Business Casual) come with jackets and pants that have elastic in the back with a flat front and a waistband.

Would anyone happen to know a pattern that is currently available that has this option or how a very basic seamstress would adapt a pattern?

Thank you,
Debi

if i were using a pattern intended for elastic all the way around, i would add darts to shape the front a bit. otherwise, i see no reason why they wouldn't fit. a bit of fashion trivia...the detail you descibed is called a hollywood waistband.

It was one with an elastic band. I don't see why you couldn't use the other if you have it though. Just put the elastic through the back section only.

Karla, did you use a pattern with an elastic waist or one with a waistband to start with?

Thanks for your quick reply

I have done this before. When you are putting in your elastic only put it in the back casing. Leave the front flat. I just used a basic pattern not a special one. Email me if you have questions.
