I have been inspired to make a 'rag rug' from reading some posts on this site! I have always wondered how to do this...So I am gonna jump in and try it! So far, I have found a piece of an old faded sheet...and tore it into strips and wrapped it into a ball....now on the hunt for more old material....Sounds like a trip to Goodwill this afternoon!! Wish me luck! After I have material gathered up....how do I start though? Do I make a 'chain' like in chochet? Or is there another and better way to start? Thanks for any suggestions!!

Hey farmer sister

Look at the blog "Plain Pam" she has good instructions on crocheting rugs! I use sheets from the thrift store!

Good luck

I just finished my first one! They sure do gobble up the material fast. I just followed MJF instructions in the Stiching and Crafting Book. If you don't have it, there are instructions for free on a lot of websites. I will try to find one and post it here.
This one is very informative,

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good luck...you should have some luck at Goodwill finding material to use. I want to learn how to make rag rugs too...but just don't have the time right now. When I am settled after our move, I am going to teach myself how to make them...can't wait to see how your creation turns out. Erica:)
