I was watching PBS and stumbled on a Martha Pullen show - she was demonstrating a Japanese technique on a special machine that looked like a hand-embroidered running stitch.

I didn't catch the name of the technique, and went to her web site, but couldn't find the show that I watched.

Anyone know what this might have been?

Kathy!

Bless you! Your clue was enough for me to find it - it is Shashiko!

I am now on to googling to find more information... Thanks so much.

Could be Shaskio, not sure of the spelling on that.
