Has anyone checked out this wonderful book by Kay Whitt? Fabulous skirt, tunic dress and tunic top patterns are included and they are oh so cute! I love her mix of fabrics and her use of ruffles! (Highly recommend a ruffler attachment for your sewing machine if you don't already have one! - I found one for my machine on eBay). I am making the frayed tunic dress and have plans to make the three-fabric skirt.

Zippers always have given me the willies - I really don't feel confident doing them. My solution is to find projects that force me to use them, of course, and meet that enemy head on! My daughter (15) just made herself 2 skirts and inserted her first zippers, totally flying solo. They turned out pretty good - I'm so proud!!!

Sue,
I'm kinda nervous to make the tunic- invisible zipper, and the cute trims that I fear will come out all lopsided.
But I will persevere!
Will make the tunic once the weather warms. It's summery.

Can't wait to see how your tunic turns out, Mary! I really love Kay Whitt's patterns. I made one of her purses for a swap I participated in at Silver Bella last year. I used vintage barkcloth fabric for the outside and love how it turned out. I need to make one for me now! Another thing for my to-do list :)

Yes, Sue! I own Sew Serendipity too. Wonderful book. I haven't made anything from it yet, but I do plan to. Let me know what you think about the patterns, fit and instructions. Dianne
