Soutache Embroidery

Anyone know anything about this type of embroidery?

I found a coat the other day at a thrift store with this type of embroidery. The coat was very heavy and I think wool.

I have been searching the net for photos and came up with this...

Any information about this type of embroidery/braiding would be greatly appreciated!

There is an article on how to make loops in soutache braid from a Threads mag/newsletter https://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/10558/how-to-make-loops-in-soutache-braid It was a common embellishment on Victorian and Edwardian jackets and skirts. You might try looking it up in a vintage needlework book.
