Posted - Aug 14 2010 : 5:30:15 PM I would stitch it int he ditch then. A walking foot will work or my regular sewing machine came with a stitching in the ditch foot. It really helps me stay where I need to when I quilt following the lines.
hope this helps Tammy

Posted - Aug 14 2010 : 07:42:25 AM With a rag quilt, a 1/2 inch seam allowance is the standard. That gives you more to "ruffle" up when washed. After sandwiching your quilt together, you can either tie it or possibly echo quilt in the squares. Are you using flannel?

Posted - Aug 14 2010 : 07:33:34 AM Welcome to the wonderful world of machine quilting!!! What exactly do you have in mind? Will you be creating a design on the finished top or following the peicing lines (stitching in the ditch)? So many options! Carmen MJFG #1443

Posted - Aug 14 2010 : 06:48:27 AM Are you making the top or actually putting the 3 layers together? 1. 1/4 seams for making the top the more acurate the easier the quilt is to deal with. 2. Walking foot for the machine. Diana
