Where do you find the plastic canvas yarn for scrubbies? I have looked at both Joann and the Hobby Lobby, to no avail. All I can find it stuff with metallic shiny thread.
Is there something else I can use? Could I use regular yarn with some kind of thick netting to make it more scrubby? Like the crinoline netting?

This sounds sooooo cool!! We always have plastic bags around, what a wonderful use for them!

I made 2 different sizes of loom knit ones, the smallest one from the knifty knitter set (blue one) and the flower loom (peachy-pink one). I got up some heavy tulle and had some old heavy yarn I picked up from a thrift shop years ago that has been waiting to have a purpose. I love them! I have already started holiday colors, orange and black for Halloween, red and green for Christmas. Guess I know what everybody is getting for gifts this year!

Do you the heavier stuff or the finer kind Karrieann? I have some of the tulle netting that is on a roll here. I would assume the crinoline kind is better, but if I could use that up it would get it out of my craft closet (so then I could put more stuff in, lol!).

Thanks ladies! I didn't know if I had to buy something different or if I could use regular yarn. I think I'll try a couple with my seemingly neverending stash.

I use the regular cotton yarn I make my dishcloths with and it works fine as well. Then you get matching dishcloths and scrubbies.

Not sure what you are looking for.....plastic canvas yarn is just a bit thicker than worsted weight yarn that I have seen. A yarn I like to use for scrubbies is the nylon yarn that Hobby Lobby sells and it's online other places as well, it's the No. 18 Hilos La Espica. It's nice to make double sided dish cloths, the nylon on one side and cotton on the other.
