Help. I am about to take custody of my four year old grandaughter ( Dad is ill and mom is no where to be found). I am looking for links or info on patterns for clothes. I made many of the clothes my boys wore when they were little, but that was over 20 years ago. I am sure she will want dresess but have hever made any. Where should I look?

Thanks

Robin,
Would a basic size 4 pattern work? In my experience , patterns run big, and I am better at following a pattern than creating one, by far!!

Robin,

Bless you for being such a good grandmother. I wish I had some dressed for a 4 yr. old to send you. I do know some great place to get patterns. You can google Sew Beautiful, Kari Me Away, and The Children's Corner. JoAnn's Fabric store also carries Burda Patterns that have some cute girl clothes.

Please send me her measurements. I'd like to sew a little dress for her and embroider it. Sew a lot for my granddaughter (she's 16 mo.) and love to make girl's clothes, especially to give away.

I took apart clothes I had gotten from the thrift and use them for patterns. No more than $.50 per item and then I could sew them again and have those clothes too.

Hi Robin,

Your grandaughter is blessed to have you as I am sure you are blessed to have her. I have two new Simplicity patterns that you might want. If you want to see what they look like go to Simplicity.com and look up 2383 and 2391. Both patterns are for vintage pillow case dresses and outfits. I don't know what size your grandaughter is, but it looks like they might work. If you are interested in these, please send me your address and I will get them right out to you.
take care and best of luck with all of this
hugs
Marcy
