Posted - Jun 02 2010 : 07:54:30 AM Nothing like me waiting till the last minute!! My eldest sons graduation party is this Sat in the form of a pig roast "down on our farm"....nice big new bank barn with 100 ppl coming, I'm not handling this well...lol. I have no clue as I'm not "crafty" as to what to do for his table, cake table. I do have a large photo board with family pics and his honors awards along with his football items...just not sure what to do with it all. Is there some kind of theme or something I should follow. I do have a nice cake on order, he doesnt like cake...so I bought 5 BIG boxes of his fav candies. Blowpop suckers, M&M's, Twizzlers etc... what else should be on this table and and and.........I'M SO LOST! Any ideas, would be great! I'm trying to make this unique and special as he'll be leaving Ohio heading to Knoxville Tenn soon for college. Thanks to yall for helping in advance

Posted - Jun 02 2010 : 1:33:38 PM HI Laura...I am not great at doing social events myself but you might just use things he loves for the Table Decorations. Like football, lettermen's jacket, game-boy, lap-top, his favorite T-shirt, a small match box car...that looks like his car etc. Those are just random items out of my head since I don't know your son. But if it is one big table you are doing you could put the photo board in the middle, his favorite items on either side. The cake & plates, silverware etc on one end and then drinks on the other end. You could even use the top-sheet of his favorite set of sheets for the table cloth (since it is not a formal setting you'll be in).
Hope you can use something out of those suggestions. Also, I had three boys...and when they graduated we had a Journal and asked people to write their favorite attribute about our son, or their favorite funny story, or a joke, or guess what he would do with his life as he got older. Those were treasured memento's that my boys still have.
Blessings, ~peggy
