Hello all you sewers out there. I need some guidance...

I received my order from MaryJane's Farm and of course had ordered the new tote with the baking mix...I got inspired!

Monday was a rainy day and I finally went down to basement with the sole purpose of sewing!
I made 6 totes that I thought might be nice to offer for sale at Farmer's Market coming up about the end of May.

Because the fabric came from my large stash, I don't know really how much I should sell them for anybody got a good formula to use for pricing?

The totes are about 20" wide and 18"deep with a gusset bottom.
Thanks for any pointers you may have.
I'm terrible at pricing as I always under price myself.
Thanks,
KarenP

Kay,
It took about 30 minutes to 45 minutes each. the first one was probably 3 hours as I was trying to decide on how big and how to sew.

I guess I'll try to get $15 each.

If I make more the price might change as I'm about out of canvas now and would have to double regular cotton fabric for strength.
Thanks for your help!
KarenP

I would sell this for at least $20 -- maybe more depending on what the market is like where you're selling. Sorry I was so vague before. How long did it take you to make it?

My Snackeesacks sell for $20. In L.A. we got $25 wholesale! But that was then, this is now. I'd suggest $15-20 depending on what your market will bear. You might check and see what others are getting.

Hey, Jenny, dig into the cookie jar. I'm bringing the Studly Cowboy totes to your place on Friday, heh heh.

adorable tote..and sounds like it is pretty big too. I am not very good at pricing either...but I would think you could get at LEAST $15 for one.(I would pay $20) I would buy one for sure. Let me know if you have an extra in fact..I am a sucker for tote bags!!!

Your totes are so cute, funny thing I made two this morning, not as nice as yours, mj must have given us both ideas. Hard to put a price on them, but if you charged 10 dollars and sold all six, well 60 dollars, not bad. charge more which of course they are worth more, might not sell as well. hard call. let us know.

Cute tote! Here's how I price my stuff. Cost of materials x 40% plus my hourly rate for labor. I also throw in $3 or $4 for incidentals such as thread, etc. If I happen to get some fabric for free or real cheap then I try to price the tote at the same amount that I'm charging for my others. Hope this helps.
