I am falling in love with "softies"...I don't know why...but there are so many unique wonderful huggable little creations out there...I don't even know where to start!?

I bought a book at the used book store the other day called, Softies Only A Mother Could Love...and they are adorable. I've also discovered patterns by Melly and Me. http://mellyandme.typepad.com Check out her patterns...I'm on the hunt for the sheep, the pig, and Freda. She also has bag patterns..that Raspberry Ripple is just screaming spring.

I've decided to try out The Toy Society http://thetoysociety.blogspot.com/ and I think that softies are a quick and easy way to go to get a little something out there and feed my creative need at the same time.

Who else loves softies?

These chickens go way back several pages in "older posts" I think it's May last year....
Can you see if she sells the pattern?

Those are adorable. I love the idea of a found toy. Thats even a great idea for giving away old stuffed animals you dont want anymore.

I totally understand. Maybe we both can get a softie done or almost done sometime then think about swapping.
Yes, they are adorable...

Oh yeah those "ugly" dolls are really cute. I'd love to be in a swap, but after my last swap (dish cloths) I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't get my partner her swap for a month after the due date! I doubled my items for her but still...I promised myself I wouldn't do a swap of any kind unless I had the items ready to go or relatively so... And it's not that I don't have patterns and materials galore to do it...it's the time. I even bought a bag of stuffing! Just in case. When I get a couple under my belt or cut out...maybe then? I have a four day weekend coming up over Valentines Day. I have all good intentions of sewing. We'll see if those "intentions' make it to fruition. LOL. It would be a GREAT swap though!!!

I love them too! That's what I wanted to have a swap for!

I thought first about the "ugly dolls"...they are flat and monster type simple softies....these you like are adorable! Let's have a swap! want to??
